I didn't set out to become a wedding DJ. I became one because of a promise I made to my wife.

We got married at the courthouse in 2003, young and in love, with a plan to have a real wedding someday. Then came kids, bills, and everything else life throws at you, and "someday" kept slipping away.

Around the same time, music found me. In 2008, I borrowed a buddy's DJ equipment to play at my son's 10th birthday party. My cousin heard about it and asked me to DJ her quinceañera. I told her, "I'm not a DJ, but I'll play music for you." That night was the start of something. Referrals followed, one event at a time.

When our 10-year anniversary arrived, so did the chance to buy our first home. I asked my wife to choose: the house or the wedding. She picked the house, but I could see her heart was torn. So I sold my motorcycle, put a deposit down on a hall, and paid for the wedding with every dollar I earned from a new business. We got the house and the wedding.

Standing there that day, I finally understood what a wedding really means. It's not just a party. It's the day two lives become one, and it only happens once. I also knew how stressful planning can be and how quickly the costs add up.

That's when I knew what I wanted to do. The DJ shapes how a wedding feels, from the first dance to the last song, and I'd seen DJs who made the night magical and others who let it fall flat. I wanted every couple to get the magic.

So I committed to learning the craft. I studied the best wedding DJs in the business, attended seminars and webinars for DJ professionals, and joined The League of Professionals in Los Angeles and Orange County. I invested in top-quality equipment and founded Dream Event DJs.

Today, about 90% of our events are weddings, and we bring the same heart and energy to corporate functions and private celebrations.
